The FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) is an international robotics competition designed for students in grades 7–12. It challenges teams to design, build, and program a robot to compete in a dynamic, head-to-head format. Each match features two alliances, each consisting of two teams, working together to complete complex tasks and score points on a specially designed field. FTC encourages innovation, strategic thinking, and teamwork, while also fostering a passion for STEM and real-world problem-solving.
Our goal is to encourage younger students to learn about STEM by sharing what we know and have learned. We want to increase interest and understanding of robotics throughout Lithuania.
LITBOT is a dedicated and ambitious robotics team currently in our second season of FTC competition. What began last year as a small group of four students has now grown into a team of 13 passionate and committed members.
The team was originally founded in 2018 by students of Kaunas Jesuit High School under the name LITBOT100, competing in the FIRST LEGO League (FLL). In 2023, we made the transition to the FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC), continuing our growth both in size and technical expertise.
Today, robotics is transforming the way we view technology, education, and collaboration across the globe. More than just a field of engineering, robotics serves as a powerful platform for learning, creativity, and personal growth. It equips individuals with essential technical skills—from programming and design to problem-solving and critical thinking—that are increasingly relevant in our rapidly evolving world.
Beyond the technical aspects, robotics fosters a strong sense of teamwork and community. It brings together people from diverse backgrounds, encouraging collaboration, communication, and mutual respect. Through shared challenges and successes, team members often form lasting friendships and develop a deeper appreciation for working towards common goals.
Whether pursued as a step toward future innovation or simply as a rewarding hobby, robotics has the potential to inspire, unite, and empower. It opens the door to new possibilities, not only in shaping the technologies of tomorrow but also in building a generation of thoughtful, driven, and curious individuals.
